4-14 Eastgate Street A block of shops with dwellings above in eclectic classical style, stucco front walls with slate roofs, slightly lower and hipped to No 4, and roughcast stacks. 3 storeyed details to the middle and upper storeys are consistent although the number of windows in each property is varied. Each property is framed by angle pilasters in middle and upper storeys and articulated by a frieze and deeply moulded cornice forming a sill band to the upper storey. The middle storey windows have moulded architraves with sill band. The upper storey has segmental-headed windows in plain architraves. A moulded eaves cornice comprises brackets alternating with raised quatrefoil panels.

The mid C20 shop fronts are recessed, with a doorway to the L side which is panelled and incorporates a glazed panel. The middle and upper storeys are divided into bays by pilasters, of which the central bay is wider. Windows have horned sashes with vertical glazing bars in the central bay and 4-pane sashes in the outer bays, all within eared architraves.
