Description
Bron Menai is a two-storey house built in stucco in the late 18th century, featuring a 1+2+1-window front. The house has a hipped slate roof and wide bracket eaves, with cement render and pebbledash chimney stacks. The central section is symmetrical, with projecting and splayed bays that frame a central four-pane door entrance to the first property, complete with sidelights and a small-pane fanlight. Most windows are sash windows, with 12 panes above the entrance, and horn detailing to the first-floor bays, which have French windows below. The plan steps back to the left with a similar entrance to the first property. The right-hand side has been altered with the addition of a square bay window around 1950, featuring a multipane metal-framed window on the first floor and French windows below. Smaller sash windows are located on the sides and rear. A half-glazed door at the back opens onto slate steps leading up to a large garden.
The front terrace has a rubble revetment wall, and the garage to the right was converted from former stables. Spearhead cast-iron railings are present, along with steps and gates at either end.
Inside, some original features remain. The entrance hall includes a ceiling rose and angle niches flanking the doorway to the stairwell, which has a turned handrail. The drawing room features a broad segmental arch with a seven-pane fanlight, reflecting the alteration of a former window following an extension.
