Description
The Former Garth Primary School is a symmetrical single-storey building designed in the Tudor style, constructed with rubble and featuring Penmon dressings. It has a slate roof and cement rendered chimney stacks. The gable ends of the cross ranges are set forward at each end, adorned with parapets, kneelers, and finials. Each gable end has a central porch; the left one serves the Boys and the right one serves the Girls. These porches are flanked by cross frame windows that have Tudor hoodmoulds. Above the main gabled section, there are attic ventilation slits positioned over inscribed slate tablets that provide the date and other details. Set back in the middle are three similar cross frame windows, with the central one being higher and topped with a gabled roof. Below this, there is a later cement rendered porch featuring a half-glazed door.
At the rear, a cross range extends lower than the side sections, with three rubble gable ends, two of which still have their paired diagonally set chimney stacks. Off-centre, there is an original gabled range with cross frame windows, along with a corrugated iron extension to the left and a lean-to on the right. A flat-roofed dormer window is located on the left-hand side.
