Description
The Sunday School and Vestry at Capel Bethel is a 19th-century building constructed of uncoursed rubblestone with buttered pointing on the rear and right side, slate-hung on the left side, and featuring a snecked rock-faced facade. It has a hipped slate roof and presents a plain Classical style in a simple L-plan, with a projecting range on the left. This projecting section includes two tall sash windows with margin lights on the front, one on the right return, and three on the left return. The main range features a panelled door beneath a rectangular overlight at the angle with the projecting range, topped by a purple brick ridge stack. The rear has two tall two-pane sash windows and a large boarded eaves hatch with double doors on the left. The forecourt at the front continues from that of the chapel and includes a rubblestone dwarf wall with slate coping and decorative fleur-de-lys railings. A pair of iron gates aligned with the entrance has pyramidal-capped standards. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
