Description
The Griffith Family Monument is a memorial structure enclosed by a railing. It features cut slate slabs that form a square pedestal with a stepped base and a capping. The monument has ogee-arched inscription panels and ring shafts at the corners. Above this, there is a smaller pedestal that repeats the details of the lower one, but with blank rectangular panels and a globe finial on top. The entire monument is set within a low railed enclosure, which has a spiked chain linking twisted standards topped with fleur-de-lys finials. The inscriptions in Welsh on the lower pedestal commemorate the Reverend David Griffith (1792-1875), his wife Ellen (1795-1885), and their daughters Mary (who died in 1850) and Margaret (who died in 1870).
