Description
Browsers Bookshop and house is a three-storey building with two windows, constructed from squared stone blocks arranged in regular courses and painted white. It features a slate roof and has a pebble-dashed stack on the right and an original shared stone stack on the left. The house entrance is located on the right side of the lower storey, elevated above street level and accessed by stone steps. This entrance has a fielded-panel door with an overlight. The shop area includes shallow bay windows with two panes each, flanking a central recessed half-lit fielded-panel door that has similar panels to its left and an overlight above. A cornice with a moulded billet frieze runs over the shop front, topped by an awning.
In the middle and upper storeys, the windows are offset to the right, featuring 12-pane horned sashes in the middle storey and shorter 9-pane sashes in the upper storey. The right gable end, which faces Capel Salem, is slate-hung above a cement-rendered lower storey. The rear of the building includes a one-storey flat-roof projection, above which are small-pane sash windows, including a stair window on the left. The property has not been inspected.
