Description
The piggery at Ystumcegid is a Grade II listed building constructed from rubble stone, with some boulders, and topped with a slate roof. It features a low food preparation area consisting of two bays that face into the domestic yard. This section includes a door, a small paned window, and a gable stack. The rear wall of the southeast bay is supported by two piers, which create three openings above the floor. Each opening has sloping boarded bottoms and is sheltered by an extension of the roof, allowing access directly above the feeding troughs of the sties. The pig accommodation is located in a parallel-roofed structure, with the two buildings connected by cross walls. A central walkway with gates separates each pen, ensuring that the feeding trough is positioned at the far end of the run from each of the four pig sties.
