Description

Ty'n Llan is a house, dating from the 16th century, constructed of rubble stone with a roof of small slates. It has three chimneys: two at the ends, each with three diagonally-set tall brick shafts on stone bases, and a central ridge chimney to the right of centre, containing two shafts with square caps. The house originally presented a double-fronted appearance with two 16-pane sash windows on each floor and two central doors. Modifications include the removal of the left-hand door and the addition of an extension to the right, featuring matching 16-pane sashes on both floors. The remaining front door is of wide, ledged boards, with an overlight, set within a mid-to-late 19th century timber-columned porch with a gable finial. All sashes are hornless with 16 panes, except for the ground floor sash on the left, which has been replaced with a 4-pane horned sash. The west end wall is of windowless rubble stone, whilst the north end wall is rendered. A two-storey rear wing features an end chimney.

The house follows a three-room plan, with some six-panel doors. A blocked second front door is visible, featuring a Tudor-arched head. The kitchen within the rear wing contains two fireplaces with stone lintels.
