Description

The stable range located to the northwest of the farmyard is a Grade II listed building constructed from polygonal rubble and topped with a slate roof that features three raised louvred ventilators. The building is 'L'-shaped at the southern end, adjacent to the Long Barn. Originally, it had boarded doors, but these have been replaced during its conversion into small workshops. Despite the alterations, the tall windows still have horizontal ventilation slits above them, which are characteristic of late 19th-century estate farm buildings. All openings are adorned with voussoirs that form flat arches with keystones. Towards the northern end, there is a blacksmith's shop that retains its brick forge, while the former slaughterhouse is also located at this end. An off-centre doorway is present on the northern gable end. At the rear, a band of ventilators is situated below the eaves of the southern section. The roof structure is typical of late 19th-century design.
