Description
The Sunday School and Vestry at Capel Tan-y-coed is a simple rectangular building with a gable end entrance facing the road. It is constructed of rendered rubblestone and features a slate roof with plain bargeboards. The entrance gable end has tall round-headed windows with very simple Y-tracery, which flank a gabled porch. The porch has shorter twinned windows directly above and an outer boarded door with a plain Y-traceried fanlight, along with small four-paned windows on the sides. The return wall facing the track has four twelve-paned sash windows, all with painted slate cills. A narrow red brick chimney stack is located at the rear.
Inside, the roof is divided into four bays supported by iron trusses, and there is a boarded ceiling. The interior retains original folding benches with iron legs.
