Description
Ty Bwlcyn is a farmhouse constructed from rubble stone, featuring a slate roof with close eaves and stone stacks, the larger of which is on the right. The building is two storeys high with a three-window front that is offset to the left. The windows have been renewed in a matching style, with three small-paned windows on the first floor that have fixed lights, except for the top half of the left side window, which is slightly longer. On the ground floor, there are two 12-pane sash windows and a central 20th-century half-glazed door. The footings are made of large boulders.
At the rear, there is a central single-storey kitchen wing with an end stack, featuring a 12-pane sash window on each side and a door on the east side. The main house has a small 6-pane casement window on the right side, a 12-pane sash window, and a small window to the left.
Inside, there is a curved beam over the fireplace inscribed with "TW 1775" and one surviving main beam that is grooved for a partition. A 20th-century staircase has been installed, and the staircase and wide-boarded doors that were described in the 1964 RCAHM volume and the 1971 listing are no longer present.
