Description
The Dovecote at Carreglwyd is a large structure built from rubble masonry with dressed quoins. It has a square plan and features walls that rise to the eaves and gable level, with gables on all four sides, likely originally topped with a slate pyramidal roof. There is a slate sill around the building above the door level. The southeast wall has a square-headed entrance, and each gable includes a narrow ventilation slit at the apex.
Inside, the walls are rendered, and there are stone shelves in each corner. Doveholes are regularly spaced, extending from the top of the door to the apex of the gables on each side, with each dovehole featuring a protruding slate roosting shelf. At the base of the northeast wall, there are remnants of slate slab lining.
