Description
Pilot's Cottage, formerly known as No. 1, is part of a pair of symmetrical cottages, linked by a whitewashed brick wall topped with flat stone copings. Both cottages are built from ashlar stone and feature angle quoins and slate roofs. Each cottage is two stories tall and has a symmetrical three-window layout with a central entrance in a gabled porch that includes a chamfered four-centred archway. Above the archway, the Trinity House arms are displayed in relief. The flanking windows are small-paned sashes with transoms, set within stressed chamfered architraves. Similar windows are found in the gable ends. The cottages have clustered diagonal shafts on the rear wall stacks and outshuts at the back, which include lean-to porches.
