Description
The dovecote and barn at Penmon Priory are notable structures built from roughly coursed rubble masonry. The dovecote is square in shape and features a corbelled stone roof dome topped with a hexagonal lantern, which is supported by six moulded piers. Below the eaves, there is a plain square string. The dovecote has a square-headed doorway that opens to the road to the north, along with a small square opening above and corresponding openings in the south and west walls.
The adjoining barn is currently roofless and has wide opposing segmentally arched doors with voussoir heads, as well as flanking ventilation slits. Inside the dovecote, the walls are lined with nesting holes, and there is a circular tower with steps in the center.
