Description
Candle Tower and the adjoining walls are located on the east side of the former Penrhos House. This circular corner tower is part of the wall that screens the service courtyard. It is constructed from rubble masonry, featuring crenellated walls and a battered base below a stringcourse. The tower has dressed stone window surrounds, including one lancet window. Access to the tower is from the terrace of the former house, and it has one internal floor. The walls attached to the tower run at right angles and include a cusped Gothic arch towards the farm to the north, which has a similarly detailed bracketed slate sill.
