Description
Nant Cottage is a two-storey house with a storeyed wing added to the rear, creating an L-shaped plan. The exterior features roughcast rendered elevations and a slate roof with slender rendered stacks that have capping. The main elevation faces east and includes a two-window range with a central doorway set in a narrow gabled porch supported by timber on brick piers. Above the doorway, there is a datestone that reads 1635. On either side of the entrance are 12-pane hornless sash windows with slate sills and hoodmoulds, and there are unequal sash windows in gabled half dormers that break the eaves above. The south gable return has a first-floor window similar to that of the ground floor of the main range, while the ground floor features a narrow casement window. The storeyed wing is detailed similarly to the main range, with 12-paned windows on the first floor. The entrance to this wing is in a modern glazed conservatory, and the ridge stack is located between the first-floor half dormers. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
