Description

This is a bridge, dating from around 1820, built as part of the Union Canal. The bridge was engineered by Hugh Baird and features a segmental arch construction. It is built using coursed materials and has slab copings at its top. Numbers are inscribed on the keystones. The Union Canal itself is designated a Scheduled Ancient Monument with the reference number 4170, and was scheduled on 15 December 2003. The bridge's statutory address is Union Canal Bridge 33, near Myre.
