Description
These are a group of five terraced cottages, likely designed by Hippolyte J Blanc around 1880, forming part of the Hopetoun Estate at Woodend. They present as a cohesive row, each cottage with three bays and a central doorway featuring an elaborate porch with brackets and bargeboards. Each cottage also has bipartite windows and stacks topped with block cornices. The construction uses snecked rubble with polished dressings, and the roofs are slated. The cottages were formerly used as a Free Church Manse. The statutory address is Woodend Hopetoun Estate Cottages (Nos 1-5).
