Description
The building located at 9 and 11 Mansefield Street in Bathgate is a cottage row that has undergone three main phases of construction. The earliest phase likely dates to the late 18th century, while the most recent additions were probably completed by the mid-19th century. As of 1988, the building is being converted into a museum, which has involved opening up the interior and making other alterations to the rear.
The exterior features a continuous red pantile roof with a slate easing course, both of which were renovated around 1988. The front of the building is finished in ashlar stone, and it has modern doors and windows with shutters. There are end stacks visible, and a cobbled area is located at the rear.
