Description
205 Glasgow Road in Dumbarton is a three-storey, 21-bay symmetrical tenement built in 1930. The building is constructed of cream concrete designed to resemble squared and stugged sandstone, with smooth ashlar dressings.
On the principal elevation facing Glasgow Road, there is a close entrance at the center bay featuring a panelled door and fanlight, topped with a stone canopy. To the right and left of the entrance, there are two bays with windows on each floor. The outer right and left sides have full-height canted window bays, with a mirror image of these bays continuing to the right and left.
The rear elevation includes a door at the center, with windows on the first and second floors above. There are also two bays to the right and left, each with windows on every floor. The outer bays feature bipartite windows with wooden mullions, mirroring the design on both sides.
The principal elevation has 2-pane timber sash and case windows, with leaded glass in the upper sashes, while the rear elevation mostly has 2-pane timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate, and there are coped stone stacks and cast-iron railings. The interior has not been seen.
