Old Parish Church, Arrochar

The Old Parish Church is a ruin dating to 1733, representing fragmentary remains of a former parish church situated within the grounds of the present church in Arrochar. The structure is built of rubble with harl pointing, featuring ashlar margins and dressings. The window and door surrounds are chamfered, and the building originally had a rectangular plan, though now only fragments of the south and west walls remain. Round-headed windows are a prominent feature, along with quoin strips.

The surviving south wall consists of a section rising to the arch head of a round-headed, slightly battered doorway, topped with a scrolled console keystone. The west wall was originally symmetrical, with round-headed windows flanking a tripartite entrance – the door is now blocked. Above the entrance is an elliptical datestone bearing the year 1733, and flanking oculi are also visible.
