Description

Fernlea Cottage is a mid 19th century single-storey cottage with a rectangular plan and four bays. It is constructed from whinstone and sandstone rubble, featuring pink sandstone margins and dressings, and has projecting bracketed eaves.

On the main elevation, there are two windows at the center, flanking two-leaf boarded doors in the outer bays. The gable elevations each have a window at the center.

The cottage has timber diamond-pane windows and a graded grey slate piended roof with lead flashings. It also features sandstone corniced octagonal stacks with octagonal cans.
