Description

Broomhill Bridge, dated 1894, was designed by engineer J. Alex. Mackenzie from Kingussie and constructed by contractor Charles Mackay. This 15-span wooden bridge features trestle piers, with five spans over the main river channel supported by triangulated trusses reinforced with iron straps. It has a simple paling balustrade and is complemented by tooled grey granite abutments that include panelled and capped end piers. A plaque on the bridge commemorates its opening.
