Gate Lodge, Aultmore House

The gate lodge at Aultmore House, designed by C H B Quennell between 1912 and 1914, is a two-storey, three-bay structure facing west. The building is harled with tooled ashlar dressings, featuring long and short quoins and margins. The central bay is ashlar faced and includes a canted bay window on the ground floor, with a doorway to the left and a window to the right. A single segmental-headed dormer is located at the center of the front, with similar dormers featuring triangular pediments on the gables and rear. The windows have 12-pane glazing, and there are two corniced ridge stacks. The roof is covered with Banffshire slate and has a piended design. There is an unfortunate single-storey off-centre extension at the rear.

The gate piers are made of square grey bullfaced granite and are linked by a short section of low coped wall and railings to similar terminal piers. There are also a pair of plain cast-iron carriage gates. The driveway is carried over the Allt Mor by a single-span bullfaced granite bridge, which features a bullfaced rubble arch ring flanked by projecting retaining walls and coped parapets.
