Description
The gatepiers and boundary wall at Dean's Manse in Dunblane were designed by William Stirling in 1829. The coach house is a single-storey, rectangular building with a gabled roof that is attached to the wall on the left. It is constructed of yellow sandstone rubble and has a harled rear. The street entrance features a segmentally-arched opening with a two-leaf boarded timber door, while there is a modern garage entrance at the rear. The left portion of the coach house has modern doors and windows, and there is a slightly advanced rubble wall on the right. The roof is covered with grey slates and has lead flashing.
The front wall is a high rubble structure made of red sandstone with yellow ashlar margins. It has gablet coping and includes a square-headed side gate on the left, which features a timber Gothick panelled door. A driveway runs to the right.
The gatepiers are square in plan and made of yellow ashlar sandstone, featuring inscribed panels and stepped pyramidal caps.
