Description
8 Jackson Street in Glassford is an 18th-century single-storey and attic former weaver's cottage. The building features dry dash walls and a slate roof, with an ashlar coped skew and an ashlar and brick stack. The windows and door are modern timber with leaded glass, and they have painted and chamfered margins, which are not in keeping with the original character of the cottage.
On the front elevation, there is a door in the center, with two windows to the left and one window to the right. There are also two cat-slide dormers, each with 2-pane sash and case windows, although the dormers have modern boarded fronts. The right side has a coped skew and a stack with a small thackstane. The rear elevation and interior have not been seen.
