Description

Carstairs Church is a building with a complex history, incorporating elements from the late 18th century, mid-18th century, and circa 1920. It is attributed to the architect Milne Bell, and the design is discussed in detail in Architecture of Scottish Post Reformation Churches on pages 88, 189, 194, and 262. The church underwent alterations and additions around 1920.
