Description

2-3 Seabank Road in Ayr is a later 19th century house with additional features added later. It is a single storey and attic structure with three bays. The entrance elevation is painted, while the sides are constructed from rubble. The building has a base course, a cornice, and a blocking course.

The north (entrance) elevation features a central entrance leading to two recessed bays on the left. It has a timber door with a letterbox fanlight above, and a single window to the left, both with labelmoulds. Above, there is a two-window bowed gable in the attic with curved eaves. To the right, there is a canted window at ground level in an advanced bay, with a two-window bowed bay above and a crenellated parapet on both.

The west (side) elevation has two bays, with a square-headed entrance on the right featuring a glazed timber door. There is a single window to the left at ground level and another single window in the attic, which is not aligned with the ground floor.

The south (rear) elevation has three bays with a central entrance that includes a timber door and flanking sidelights. There are single windows to the outer left and right, and two bowed dormers in the attic.

The windows at the ground floor are plate glass timber sash and case, with modern windows on the west elevation. The attic features 12-pane windows on the north elevation and 18-pane windows on the south elevation. The roof is covered with grey slate, has stone skews, rooflights, corniced gablehead stacks, and both circular and polygonal chimney cans.

The interior was not seen in 1998.

The property is enclosed by a coped boundary wall, which is partially painted. There are vehicular entrances on the left and right sides, with square-plan pyramidal-capped gatepiers on the left, while the right gatepier is lower in height.
