Description
Faire Knowe is a late 19th-century, asymmetrical two-storey, three-bay house located on Cargill Road in Maybole. The exterior features stugged ashlar with polished dressings. A pilastered round-headed doorcase with a fanlight and keystone is situated in the right bay, which also includes a tripartite window. Above this is a deeply bracketed balcony with a door and another tripartite window. The advanced gabled left bay has a semi-circular four-light window on both the ground and first floors, with a cornice over the ground floor and moulded panels below the cill course at the first floor. There is a cornice and balustrade above this bay. The house has an eaves course, a bracketed cornice, a corniced and shouldered end stack, and a slate roof. To the right, there is a single-storey pedimented addition that is recessed, and to the left, a conservatory is also recessed. The boundary wall curves to square-plan gatepiers, which feature dentilled cornices and ball finials.
