Description

The Old Cemetery Gates and Walls in Maybole date from the mid-19th century and are constructed from rubble. The walls have been re-aligned with modern Fife stone along Abbot Street. The narrow gateway, built in the late 19th century, features bull-faced red ashlar and is gabled with gablets. It has a moulded pointed arched opening that includes a simple cast-iron gate and a blind oculus above. The cemetery encloses several notable stones from the 18th and 19th centuries.
