Description

Veensgarth House is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay former farmhouse. It features a symmetrical gabled design with a full-width piend-roofed and gabled wing at the rear, along with a mono-pitch roofed outbuilding attached at the southeast corner. The exterior is finished with harled rubble walls accented by stugged and droved sandstone dressings.

The west elevation, which is the principal facade, is near-symmetrical and includes a gabled porch in the center bay, flanked by tripartite windows. The first floor has regular fenestration. On the northeast elevation, there is a single window at ground level, offset to the right. The east elevation features a single-storey wing that runs parallel to the main house, with a gabled section on the left and a piend-roofed section on the right. There is a small gabled porch adjoining this wing and tall stacks. A single window is located on the first floor of the main house behind the wing. The south elevation has single windows on both floors, also offset to the right.

The roofs are covered with purple-grey slate, and the principal roof has stugged sandstone skew-copes and gablehead stacks.

Additionally, there is a garden wall made of random rubble that encloses the garden to the south, along with the remains of a small rubble outbuilding at the southwest corner.
