Description
Fenton Barns is a mid-19th century farmhouse that features a symmetrical, three-bay design with classical details. It is two stories tall and has an L-shaped plan, with single-storey projections at the rear. The exterior is constructed from squared and snecked rubble, with ashlar dressings.
On the southeast elevation, there are three wide bays, with a door located in the advanced, pedimented central bay. The outer bays have large tripartite windows at ground level. The rear (north) elevation includes a gabled wing to the right, with a single-storey eastern projection to the left and a piend-roofed addition. The sash and case windows have a 12-pane glazing pattern, while the tripartites feature 4 and 8-pane configurations. The building has corniced ashlar stacks, with one unusually located at the centre of the main house's ridge. The roofs are slate, with the southern wing having a piended design.
Additionally, there are short ashlar gatepiers with moulded coping at the northwest, accompanied by rubble-coped quadrant walls made of rubble.
