Description
6 Farm Cottages in Fenton Barns date back to around 1875 and consist of three pairs of symmetrical, single-storey cottages, with Nos 9 and 10 now combined into one unit. The cottages are built from squared and snecked rubble, featuring contrasting ashlar margins and raised cills.
On the southeast elevation, there is an advanced gabled bay at the center, which includes two doorways with chamfered surrounds and strip fanlights. The outer bays have two widely spaced windows that are recessed. The rear elevations feature small projections with piend roofs. The sash and case windows have lying-pane glazing, and the cottages are topped with slate roofs, complete with coped end and ridge stacks, and timber brackets on the south gables.
