Description
Sandwater Mills in Breckon, Yell, date from the later 19th century and consist of a group of three horizontal mills located near the shore. The southern mill is intact up to the wallhead, with its northwest corner built on a rock outcrop, while the two mills to the northeast are in an advanced state of ruin. The mills are constructed with drystone rubble walls and follow the standard design of rectangular gabled drystone rubble buildings, which include upper and lower houses with square openings for the inlet and outlet. The mills have been roofless since 1996.
