Description
The Walled Garden at Chapel On Leader House is a mid-19th century rectangular-plan structure that features a partially derelict glass house and roofless former potting sheds. The walls extend approximately 99 meters by 53 meters and are constructed of whinstone rubble with sandstone ashlar copes and dressings. The garden has a raised wallhead with ball finials at the center of the north wall, which includes a lean-to glass house on the inner face and a lean-to potting shed and boiler house range on the outer face. The potting shed is fitted with alternating 12-pane sash and case windows and timber-boarded doors. There are heating flues on the outer face of the north wall, and the outer corners feature splayed wing walls with obelisk finials. A cast-iron entrance gate is located at the center of the south wall.
