Description
8 Abbotsford Road in Darnick is a mid-19th century two-storey house block. It features paired doors with a continuous cornice at the center and a tripartite window with a dummy center light above the doors on the first floor. The ground-floor window of 'Glenmore' has been enlarged to a tripartite design. A moulded eaves course runs across the north gable, which includes a blind window on the first floor and an oculus at the apex. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with droved dressings, has straight skews with rectangular corniced end-stacks, and a slated roof. 'Glenmore' was later extended by an additional two bays to the south, following the curve of the road, and maintains the same coursed rubble with droved dressings and a piended slated roof.
