Description
Weirknowe, located at Weirhill Place in Melrose, is an earlier 19th century building featuring a single storey and a basement. The west-facing front has five bays, with a central door that is topped by a block cornice and a pediment. This entrance is accessed by steps with a railed balustrade. The front is constructed of stugged ashlar, while the flanks and rear are made of snecked rubble. At the rear, there is a half-octagon projecting bay in the center, which is flanked by tripartite windows. The building has a piended slated roof, although the chimney has been removed.
