Description

The Post Office at 42-44 Horsemarket in Kelso is a two-storey Neo-Georgian building designed by W T Oldrieve of the HM Office of Works in 1910. It features five bays of polished ashlar stone. The entrance is located in the right-hand bay and is framed by a key-blocked architrave and a semi-circular pediment. The windows have lugged surrounds and cornices at the ground floor. At the top, there is a bold mutule cornice along the wall-head, and the building has a tall bell-cast, slated roof with chimneys placed asymmetrically.
