Description
This is a late 19th century pant well located in Newcastleton. It features a shouldered square base that supports an octagonal shaft topped with a rounded cornice and a domed cap, which includes a cast-iron central lantern. There is a rectangular trough attached to the southwest side of the well. The structure is made of sandstone ashlar. On the southeast side, there is a boarded door with decorative wrought-iron hinges, and on the northeast side, there is a cast iron lion's-head spout.
