Description
The stables at Harleyburn House were built around 1876, likely by the architects Brown and Wardrop. The structure is arranged in a U-shape and features a two-storey central stable block with lower wings. It is constructed from red sandstone, accented with contrasting dressings and quoins. The central block has three segmental arched openings, which have now been filled in, and three windows above, with the outer two being raised wallhead dormers. The courtyard elevation of the wings includes segmental-headed openings and loft windows above. Each block is topped with a piended slate roof. There have been some later alterations to the building.
