Description

Leaderfoot Viaduct is an outstanding former railway viaduct designed by engineers Charles Jopp and Wylie & Peddie in 1865. It spans the River Tweed and features 19 tall, slender arches, reaching a height of 126 feet. The viaduct is constructed with red sandstone piers, walls, and abutments, while the arches are made of brickwork, each with a span of 43 feet.
