Description
Edenbank Cottage is an earlier 19th century house with later alterations. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure featuring a single-storey addition to the east. The walls are constructed of harl-pointed sandstone and whinstone rubble, accented with broadly droved ashlar dressings and flush quoins.
On the southeast elevation, there is a later boarded door with a glazed upper panel and a three-pane rectangular fanlight above it. A modern timber boarded gabled porch is present, along with a window at the first floor above the door. Each flanking bay has a window on both floors. The eastern addition is set back and has a window positioned to the right of centre.
The northeast elevation includes a harled single-storey lean-to. The cottage features 12-pane timber sash and case windows and has a purple slated roof. The addition to the east has a modern corrugated roof. There is a modern red brick wallhead stack on the west side and a brick wallhead stack on the east side.
The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1995.
