Description
The Hermitage is a house from the later 19th century that has undergone some alterations and additions. It is a single-storey building with an attic and features three bays, along with a modern flat-roofed single-storey addition at the rear. The exterior is constructed of stugged ashlar with droved ashlar dressings and includes timber mullions.
On the southeast elevation, there is a modern flush door at the center, accompanied by a narrow two-pane rectangular fanlight. To the right, there is a bipartite window, while to the left, a full-height canted window is present, which is squared off at the eaves height, with a window located in the gablehead above.
The northwest elevation features a finely-harled modern addition that includes a window at the center and another in the bay to the right. A door is flanked by a window to the right in the bay to the left.
The house has timber five-lying-pane sash and case windows and a graded slate roof with exposed rafters at the eaves. There is a gabled dormer in the right bay of the southeast elevation, which has a triangular-headed window, along with brick stacks.
The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1996.
