Description

Ferniehirst Bridge, located on Newcastle Road, was designed by engineers J A Leslie and Reid in 1928. It features a single 64-foot span segmental arch made of concrete. The bridge has square capped piers and a balustraded parapet. The solid parapet extends beyond the piers and is terminated by secondary squat coped piers.
