Description

The Ivy Bridge, located on the Ardtornish Estate, was designed by Alexander Ross in 1888. It is a single span bridge made of rubble, featuring a secondary flood arch on the east side. The bridge has a wide segmental arch ring with bullfaced rubble dressings, and the flood arch is treated in a similar manner. The parapet has rounded tooled rubble copes and the principal span is slightly raised. The approximate span of the main arch is 54 feet.
