Auldersyde, 113 Ralston Avenue, Glasgow

Westfield is a double villa built around 1870 to 1880, showcasing a "Thomsonesque" style. The building has two storeys and features an asymmetrical two-bay centre. On the left, there is a pilastraded first-floor window above a bracketed balcony. The right bay is gabled and shallowly advanced, with a first-floor bipartite window that has an Egyptian-derived cavetto-moulded pediment topped with an anthemion finial. There are full-height recessed bays on either side, each with a porch supported by a single column, although the column at number 113 has been replaced. Originally, there were conservatories on either side, set between the floors and raised on a high base; the original timber frame and glazing have been retained at number 113, while those at number 109 have been replaced. The villa is constructed of squared rubble with ashlar dressings and originally had sash windows, though some have been removed at number 113.

The roofs are broad-eaved and covered with slate, featuring end ridge stacks. The property is set behind low boundary walls, with gatepiers similar to those found at Thomson's Ellisland, built in 1871.
