Description

Garthland Bridge, dated 1767 but possibly from the late 18th century, is a single-span, segmental-arched bridge that crosses the Black Cart. It features octagonal terminal piers made of ashlar stone. The bridge has a string course and a coped parapet. The east elevation includes a central rectangular decorative datestone inscribed with "GARTHLAND BRIDGE, 1767." The broad abutments splay out to the octagonal terminal piers.
