Description
20 New Street in Paisley was built around 1900 and features Renaissance architectural details. The main front is made of polished ashlar stone, with a channelled design at the ground level and arched openings. The building is mainly three bays wide and symmetrical, with a central doorcase and outer oriel windows on the first floor. To the left, there is a fourth bay that includes a large doorway at the ground level and a deeply recessed area on the first floor. The structure has two storeys, a basement, and an attic, topped with deep parapets. The glazing appears to have been altered. The roofs are slate-covered. Additionally, there is a two-bay flank that faces the street corner, and at the rear, there is a gabled two-storey range with six bays, featuring large arched windows and small-paned windows, as well as rooflights in the bays.
