Description
Aytoun Hall, located on High Street in Auchterarder, was designed by C.S. Robertson in 1872. This two-storey building features a mix of Gothic and Romanesque architectural styles, with a prominent gable front made of stugged ashlar. The façade includes stilted round and segment-headed arches, and there is a machicolated clock tower topped with a tall slated roof. The building underwent alterations and additions in 1902, and an Ionic fountain aedicule was added to the tower in 1905. The listing has been re-categorised as C(S) from B in 2006, emphasizing the group interest of the building, which includes both its interior and exterior elements as appropriate to its type.
