Description
Auchterarder Parish Church dates from the mid-17th century and has undergone later alterations. It features a simple square tower built of rubble, which is intaken at half its height. Each face of the tower has one plain Gothic window, and there is a stair leading to a semi-circular arched doorway topped with a pyramid roof. The church shows evidence of several rebuildings, as indicated by roof scars. In the churchyard, there are several 18th-century tombstones, with the notable exception of a rich late Gothic tomb by R. & W. Anderson from 1889, which is the only later monument of significance.
